Aquaponic gardening is a great method for raising fish and vegetables together. Aquaponic farming is a sustainable and commercially profitable way of organic farming.

The waste of the fish will get converted by bacteria to nitrates, which the plants will feed on. It’s a closed loop system.

In the beginning you need to test your water frequently but after a few weeks, it doesn’t need much maintenance anymore. The fish waste will almost create all the nutrients except a few which you will have to add yourself.

Great introduction book I like the book because it keeps it simple, yet went into great detail about setting up your first system. It has some example setups at the end of the book. Great read.

New way of growing veggies! The idea might not be new, but it’s new for me. Growing aquaponics really makes sense to me. I have some space in my garden so I better get working on it

I’m a BSA geek now Very good explanation of the importance of BSA in aquaponics. BSA stands for the biological surface area which you will need to calculate how much fish you can stock. The fish you will stock also depends of you are going to use a low stocking density or high stocking density. Touches a bit of commercial aquaponics too.
