Really horrible experience. First time I plugged this in, it worked for about 30 seconds, then a massive electrical flash, and I was shocked heavily making me fall to the floor, but luckily my house fuse box flip trips cut the power. Really horrible experience.

Newer version not as good as the old Bought a couple several years ago and they were great, but had issues with a pair of new ones just purchased. First, one of the new ones had a such a loud audible buzz that we had to return it for a replacement the other has a faint buzz that’s acceptable… but both of the old ones have always been silent for years. Second, the old version of this lamp had an on/off toggle switch on the light fixture, the new ones put the the switch on the electrical cord. That’s useful if you’re using one…

Not for growing This is a well made product and arrived ok, but, as it registers only 300-400 on my light meter (sunlight is about 2500), my bonsai would consider this bright darkness at best. I would not buy this to grow plants with!
